About
Shoutout to Socrates for the only thing I'm sure of — "All I know is that I know nothing."
I'm Tea, a curious, contemplative, first-generation Serbian-American global citizen. I graduated from DePaul University in June of 2022 with a BA in both communication studies and Spanish. I treat life as a never-ending research project toward self-actualization (shoutout to Abraham Maslow for guiding my human needs). My next adventure will be taking place in 2025 in Barcelona, Spain, where I'll be enthusiastically starting a Master's program in Travel Journalism.
Being first-generation is a privilege in the way it's exposed and forced me to navigate two very different cultures. By doing so, my storytelling transcends borders and knows how to relate to different perspectives and mindsets. The collectivist nature of my dad, born and raised in former-Yugoslavia, wanted me to immerse myself in my traditional Eastern European culture. My summers were always spent in Serbia with family where I would observe, analyze, and contemplate the various perspectives and opinions across generations, cities, cultures, hemispheres, and retellings of history.

Being exposed to multiple sides of history and living within the East and West brought me to a point of craving clarity, truth, and accountability. Despite being critical of current systems, I believe in the future, and the potential each one of us has to make it a good one when we identify our values. My personal experience and values drive me to amplify the voices of creative, accountable, and forward-thinking organizations to promote platforms that create community through shared values.
