WRITING: The Instagram Iceberg: How Do We Dive Below the Surface?
Freud was not expecting this one. This article is a reflection of social media's effect on the spirit, and how scraping the surface is the most we're willing to go for new relationships, as Instagram acts as the ego's guard to diving below the surface.
My attitude on social media, and especially Instagram, changes every day. Viewing social media as a branch of ourselves can be both a creative experiment and a failed trial at authentically sharing our lives. This article is an outcome of frustration toward social media's influence on the depths of the relationships we form and the perception we have of ourselves.
